Lion Poll

Lion Poll, Center for Survey Research at Penn State Harrisburg

The Lion Poll is an omnibus web-panel survey of 1,000 adult Pennsylvanians conducted twice a year (spring and fall) by the Center for Survey Research. The poll offers organizations and researchers the unique opportunity to contribute one or more questions that assess the opinions, knowledge, and behaviors of Pennsylvania residents.

Poll sponsors receive high quality statewide survey data that is representative of Pennsylvania's population by age/gender cohort, and region. In addition to the data gathered from your questions, you will also receive data from 23 demographic questions and a methodology report detailing our rigorous quality control procedures.

How much does the Lion Poll cost?

Questions start at $1,000 for a standard closed-ended question with up to five response choices. The Lion Poll also supports more complex questions, such as open-ended questions and those that allow respondents to select multiple responses.

Included in the cost:

  • Assistance with question wording and sequencing from our expert staff
  • A methodology report detailing all technical and quality-control procedures
  • Twenty-three standard demographic questions
  • A clean dataset in the format(s) of your choice (such as Microsoft Excel, CSV, SPSS, SAS, Stata, etc.)

Per-question costs

A variety of reporting options are available for an additional fee.

Get started

“The Penn State Lion Poll is a cost-effective way to poll statewide in Pennsylvania because costs are shared among the sponsoring organizations. The center then works closely with the researchers to assist with writing questions and responses.”

—Steph Wehnau, director of the Center for Survey Research

Our Methodology

We use a web panel methodology to collect data from 1,000 adult Pennsylvanians. This non-probability-based data collection method produces quick, cost-effective results that are more representative of a population than telephone surveys, which use randomized selection methods. We closely monitor participant recruitment to ensure high-quality results.
