Commitment to Diversity

Penn State University has emphasized its commitment to the diversity of its climate, students, and workforce in the Framework to Foster Diversity at Penn State: 2010-2015.   Seven Challenges have been identified to target continued improvement:

  1. Developing a Shared and Inclusive Understanding of Diversity
  2. Creating a Welcoming Campus Climate
  3. Recruiting and Retaining a Diverse Student Body
  4. Recruiting and Retaining a Diverse Workforce
  5. Developing a Curriculum That Fosters United States and International Cultural Competencies
  6. Diversifying University Leadership and Management
  7. Coordinating Organizational Change to Support Our Diversity Goals

Units within the University have gathered data about their campus to address these challenges.  One way to gather this information is through a climate assessment.
