WEB CAPABILITIES
CSR offers a full array of secure-hosted web survey services.
SECURE WEB SURVEY HOSTING AND DATA MANAGEMENT
The Center for Survey Research offers secure web survey hosting and data management for all projects. The following steps are taken to ensure that your data are safe:
- Surveys are hosted on a secure server that is housed at Penn State Harrisburg.
- CSR’s information technology support center runs regular data backups.
- Data stored on researchers’ computers are accessible only by password.
- Data are regularly extracted and monitored for quality assurance.
- Data files are shared with the sponsor via a password-protected zip file, secure file transfer site, or TrueCrypt encryption software (depending on the sensitivity of the data).
APPEARANCE
Customize the “look and feel” of your survey to mirror your organization’s appearance or use one of CSR’s standard templates. The software will allow you to:
- Use your logo and/or images
- Change the color, font, size, and style of survey text and background features
- Add an exit URL at the end of the survey
SURVEY PROGRAMMING
CSR staff will program your survey using 20 different question types, skipping logic, and your customized survey template. Sponsors will have the opportunity to view and test the survey before fielding begins.
PARTICIPANT ACCESS TO SURVEYS
Closed access (login required) and open access (no login) surveys are offered. Our software assists with sending invitations and survey reminders by email to closed access participants.
DATA COLLECTION
- Approximately 100 concurrent user connections are available to respondents during fielding.
- CSR’s toll-free number, direct phone line, and email address are provided to respondents should they encounter difficulties in accessing the survey.
- Respondents have the option to save and continue the survey at another time.
- Fielding typically lasts 20 days, although this can be altered to fit your project’s needs.
