Telephone Interviewer Positions

The Center for Survey Research at Penn State Harrisburg offers survey research services to sponsors in government, academia, business, and the non-profit sector. We conduct telephone interviews for research studies using a computer-assisted telephone interviewing system. We do not sell anything or ask for any money.

Starting interviewer wages are $9.00/hour. Pay is bi-weekly. Certain projects may offer a higher wage for selected days or times; interviewers who have completed the first 10 hours of training may be eligible for these incentive rates. Increases based on merit and high performance are assessed periodically.

Interviewers are required to work a minimum of 9 hours per week, with a maximum of 40 hours per 2-week pay period. Interviewers are responsible for submitting the days/hours they would like to work on a bi-weekly basis. A supervisor then develops a schedule. Typical hours are available Monday through Thursday from 9am to 9pm, Fridays 9am-5pm, Saturdays 10am to 6pm, and Sundays 1pm to 8pm; however, the days/hours available to work may vary project by project. This is a part-time, project position with work hours available only when CSR has a telephone survey project that requires service to a sponsor.

If interested in becoming a telephone interviewer, please email a resume and cover letter to Timothy Servinsky, Research Associate for the Center for Survey Research, at tjs32@psu.edu or fax to 717-648-6306. Questions may be directed to Tim at 717-948-4312.
